The title “Je vis dans un monde” translates to “I Live in a World” and it is the focus of the poem. The poem describes many different global issues such as terrorism, environment, child soldiers, and more. This graphic uses text and images in a simple yet effective way to minimize distraction and enhance the learning outcome.Īudio: The audio recording is of a poem I wrote for the grade six social studies curriculum.

Doing so allows the students to compare and contrast their living situations, neighbourhoods and environments with those less fortunate. This graphic is intended to allow the students to think critically and discuss the images. In the center of the graphic is text asking the students, “If you were given a choice, how would you like to live?”. To create the graphic, I used two images that I took myself (photos from the slums of Brazil) and two images found on the Creative Commons page and positioned them in a way that allowed a comparison using arrows. Graphic: In order to create a graphic that is authentic to the grade six social studies curriculum, I used an online image and graphic design platform called Canva. All other pieces of the webpage are produced by me, Krysta Lewis, with respect to copyright laws. Please note that the first image on the webpage is a stock image from Wix used in accordance with Wix as a background image. The content on the page is all related to British Columbia’s Grade 6 Social Studies Curriculum as per the Government of BC website.
